Oh boy. Get comfortable because we might be here awhile.
There are so many things I would tell you, but not nearly enough time to. Besides, the past is past and you can’t change it.
But if you could…
I would tell you that friends will come and go. And it will hurt as painfully as a broken heart. And it doesn’t necessarily mean that you did something wrong. Sometimes people just grow apart.
I would tell you that loving yourself is more important than having a guy love you.
That said, I would also tell you to stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You are perfectly imperfect in the best kind of way. And believe me when I say “the fat” you feel is nothing to compared to the adulthood fat.
I would tell you to save more money.
But I would also tell you to enjoy the adventures.
I would tell you to move away.
I would tell you not to talk to many of the guys you did.
I would tell you to get help when you needed it.
I would tell you that the way your family treats you should not be accepted and that you will survive without them.
I would tell you that marriage is overrated & not the fairy tale ending you expect.
I would tell you never give up on your dreams.
But most importantly I would tell you that you will never experience the kind of love that compares to that of a child.
Just remember that this one (I would tell you that marriage is overrated & not the fairy tale ending you expect.) is because he was not the right man for you. Someday, honey, someday. Sending hugs!

I’ve heard that a lot but I seriously don’t think I would go through it again. But thanks love

I am with you on that. I don’t think I can either. I just wanted you to know that happy marriages do exist. xxxx

I love posts like this! I’ve actually written many similar open letter posts myself! My favourite one was a letter to my younger sibling which was actually very similar to this! Great post! 😊

They make me cringe a bit. I’m allowed to see all the bad stuff I’ve endured. But I guess that wouldn’t make me who I am today right?

Oh see I love them because you’re looking back and accepting the fact that it’s not gone perfect and like you say it’s made you who you are! If anyone in this world says they have lived a perfect life they are lying! We all go through shit and I think writing open letters are a great way on looking back and showing that you know where it went wrong and you won’t make that mistake again! 😁👏🏼 but then again, I always try to see the positive in everything even when it’s the most negative thing ever haha! Definitely agree that anyone who says they live a perfect life is lying. And no it’s good to see things positively. We need more of that in the world!

If only we could back in time & actually read these letters when we were younger, right?

Man there would be soooo less mistakes. Or perhaps there would just be different ones.
